seriessix Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hi, I live in a long row of two floored terraced houses which all have flat roofs, me and my wife have lived here happily for three years up until recently. A few weeks ago our landlord started doing all manner or maintenance on our roof, which would have been fine if we did not have a large skylight in the ceiling above the upstairs landing. I know he has rights as landlord and he is alarmingly unattractive, but I can often I can hear him up there gently sobbing. Last week he was up there to save some exotic fledgling chicks, and this week he was prising out an errant gaggle of pigeons that had decided to nest up there. My wife and I have seen him several times straddled across our skylight as we are leaving the bathroom, my wife is rightly concerned by his large ruddy face looking down on us. On the weekend I watched him hardly take more than three bites from his sandwich! I'm just wondering if there is any un-confrontational course I can take to resolve this?

mr_busdriver Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 To be honest I think if he was being pervy, he wouldn't be quite so obvious. As for him taking 3 bites from a sandwich, that don't mean anything I can eat a small sandwich in 4 bites, perhaps like me, he has a healthy appetite
Strix Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 goose grease? that'd make his clambering more difficult edit: hadn't absorbed the flat roof bit on first reading
m^rk Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Or a pic of jabberwocky in the window!;) Or tip loads of Sticky Tar allover the Roof the would stop him
Tony Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 As a tenant you are entitled to the peaceful use of your property, and that includes him carrying out maintenance at reasonable times. If he's up there over the whole weekend, very early or late in the day then you have good cause to ask him to do it during normal working hours. Just do it nicely and you should be ok.
rubydazzler Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 "exotic fledglings"? Yet another flight of fancy, series six?
