Guest Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Only thing I'll say is don't buy Norton. Might be worth posting in the Computer section too?
harrydooby Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 hi try avast or avg they are both free and you can run both together if you like works for me
cozzyb Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 both of the above are crap AntiVir is free and great check this out http://www.av-comparatives.org/ all of the results for last years antivir has been top. And if you want a free Firewall id get Comodo also free and free anti spyware Spybot SD most likely.
TESTPASS Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Use AVAST its free and ive had it on for years without getting anything on my pc. DONT touch nortons with a barge pole. it slows your pc down to a crawl and is more like a virus than tho's it finds. install and uninstall it and have a look at the state of the registry after, it leaves more crap than a community of gypsies
skanky Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 hi try avast or avg they are both free and you can run both together if you like works for me Seconded used one at work and one at home. Though I now use Linux so don't use anti virus any more.
cozzyb Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 if you read post i put on avast did badly in alot of the recent tests this months wasnt to bad but last load have been really bad. Use ANTIVIR its never bad check the results
cozzyb Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2007_11.php avast gets 37% and antivir gets 81 speaks for itself and the "great" avg got a laughable 25%
nick2 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Though I now use Linux so don't use anti virus any more. I think you should. I use AVG, it's free and just as good as anything else out there.
