This is now being discussed in the "forum suggestions" section as an all singing, all dancing "outdoor pursuits" group

did you see the suggestion to split an OP group into sub groups like they have i the property and housing section?

The forum special interest groups are really quite distinct from the forum sections. The group leaders volunteer and are selected on the basis of their enthusiasm/special interest/expertise (delete as appropriate according to the group) in the group's subject, or at least that was always the case. An 'Outdoor Pursuits' group inevitably would require some dilution of this requirement, or perhaps the recruitment of several group co-leaders, each with an interest in and responsibility for a certain area. Too many cooks, perhaps?

The suggestion would be more appropriate for a new section of the forum, overseen in the usual way by the forum's moderators. An Outdoor Pursuits special interest group seems a little too general to constitute a special interest.

Apparently you don't need your own dog as you can just look at everyone elses !!! If you do happen to have your own dog then expect others to want to have a good look at it too!!
