It just makes you want to weep, doesn't it? :(

I feel so angry about all of this, and yet totally impotent to do anything about it. It's just amoral and wrong to me.

What makes me boil is that the migrants aren't the problem - they live in disgusting conditions and work in disgusting conditions (I don't think many people here will have done the farm labouring they had on the TV show last night - it's dangerous, degrading and dehumanising, the way the farmers treat you). And them being here is damaging their own countries and is unfair.

That's what people cannot see because unfortunately the racist BNP have got the issue and come at it from the wrong angle - the migrant workers are not to blame - and the other parties are just concerned with big business and do not give a stuff about ordinary people and the future for them, either in this country OR in Poland.

Did you notice though, the young English lads who were vox popped

in the program?

They were told by the reporter that there was work avialable picking butternut squash at £7/hr? Their response? ''No way, I'll stick to benefits'' The eastern europeans were happy to take this work and do ten hour days, six days a week - approx £2k a month.

The gangmaster, when asked how many english folk had ever asked him for work said 'three'. What do you make of that?

It says to me that the British have more pride than to voluntarily allow themselves to be shamelessly exploited by unscrupulous employers, who don't give a damn about their welfare.

Or that we're a nation of spongers, who want an easy life.

I've dug ditches for the equivalent of £2.50 an hour to put food on the table(before minimum wage). That's pride.

How can you deduce that earning £7 an hour is shameless exploitation?

Of course - it's the traditional 'divide and conquer' that always gets used by the ruling classes to divide any potential opposition to them. It's so old-hat it's almost embarrassing.

It's not the fault of the migrants - they're being exploited just as much as British would-be workers are. And I have to ask what state Poland's in at the moment, if the bulk of its professional class are over here doing manual work. It's absolute madness all round - apart from the share-holders of the companies making a killing.

It's an absolute disgrace our government stands by and lets this happen - but of course, they've got no more choice in the matter than we the public do. Our government just does what it's told nowadays by the EU and the multinationals and banks.

Something is going to break somewhere - it's just a question of time.

Well, quite - it suggests to me that some Brits are too damned idle to make the effort. Nearly two grand a month or live off the state?

I know which I'd prefer. What about you StarSparkle?

If you work in television you can edit and twist anything to portray what you intensd it to portray.

I could also do it by takingf a camera to that same job centre and get film of exatly the opositte, after all if you speak to enough people you will get the answer you want eventually then of course you can leave the rest on the editors floor and use the one you want after editing it well of course.News channels do this all the time.

Are we saying that all our young people have the same atttitude as these that were shown last night?I think not. There seems to be some heavy youngster bashing going on in this country and who could blame them for feeling useless and unwanted.

Lets stop them drinking, driving, and anything else that shows we need to put prices up on something thats their fault.

I would have serious reservations about accepting the accuracy of those wages. I find those figures VERY hard to believe, and in fact, I don't believe them.
