magsie Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 from out Outlook folder.' Recipients say they are getting two copies of my emails. Help and support doesn't help! Can you help please?
magsie Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 No, cgk, Trend Micro. Something else happens which I've never come across before. I get a message that hangs 'the table below lists the computers now connected to your personal wireless network'. Then it asks do I trust them, not trust them. But if I don't know where they are coming from how can I tell? There is no name, just a series of numbers! The message hangs there and doesn't do a thing, just stops me accessing my running progs. I go into Task Mgr to close Trend Micro down but it's a pain. System is really slow and 'jumpy'! Thanks for replying.
magsie Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 Re. computers now connected to my network. I've changed setting to ignore. Hope it doesn't cause a prob. Wud it?
cgksheff Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 It really sounds as though you have no security set up on your wireless network and that you have people using your connection. You should sort that out straight away to deny others access. You should also reject/not trust when prompted as opposed to ignore.
magsie Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 How can people use my connection? Gulp! Will definitely not ignore. Will ring Trend again. Tks.
sixriver Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 If other people are on your network, its the security on your router that needs configuring. Even if the firewall and anti-virus protects your P.C they will still be able to use your internet connection for free
magsie Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Thanks everyone. Security now sorted. You have been very helpful, thanx.
