Help he's eaten chicken bones

Can you still get chicken necks from anywhere? Our butchers, who we thought did everything on spot, say hard to get hold of.

Not seen chicken necks but wings are really easy to get hold of and quite cheap, my lot love them, dogs and cats too

Damn right it is! Hes never going near a chicken bone as long as he lives! Im glad this threads here or I could have killed him and thought I was treating him.

 

Our 'bungle' alfie loves raw chicken, so does our wegie Ashia (just shows these two were fed a variety of foods as youngsters by their breeders and will eat anything whereas the other posh 'uns are really fussy and won't try anything new). Anyway, we sometimes buy chicken wings or drumsticks and let them toss em about, chew on em til they get bored and then throw what's left away. Better if they can eat somewhere where you can scrub up afterwards - we all know raw chicken is full of germs - but it's great for their digestion and their teeth.

The daft dobermutt wont touch raw chicken but loves raw steak.

OH bullet you daft lad, dont go frightening your mummy like that, fingers crossed hell be ok, Jessie my now past lurcher once got into a bin and stole a whole chicken carcass thankfully he waas fine, whilst another just ate a single bone and was very ill so i think it all depends on how good the dogs stomach is. anna.x.

Hi Joanne, is he any better now? I'm guessing by now you'll know if its affected him or not, but I wonder if him looking a bit off and sheepish was because he knew he'd snaffled the food? My hound counter-surfs when she gets the chance and then slinks around seeming very withdrawn because, I think, she knows she's not allowed to do that.

So.. ever so slightly off topic... if humans eat chicken bones.... does anyone know if thats bad too because Im always scoffing them.

as advised by the vets - check the poo and make sure the bones are coming out and if feel off take calpol

Lol My dog eat a full turkey on xmas eve he was a bit quite and had a upset tummy for a few days but was fine after that.
