SParr Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 My partner and i are thinking of buying in chesterfield as we cant seem to afford what we want in Sheffield! Does anybody know areas to avoid? We are going to view two houses - one in Stonegravels and one in Walton. thanks!
Wayne77 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Chesterfield's not bad on the whole but I would say that Walton is the better of the two.
lyndsayx Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 walton would be the better choice, wingerworth is lovely too.
torin8 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Ashgate is also nice. I'd avoid some areas of Dunston and some areas of Newbould but then there are also nice areas in these 2 places! Just like anywhere I guess.
Deebles Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 walton would be the better choice, wingerworth is lovely too. Doesn't John Lowe the Darts player live in Wingerworth?
gatecrasher3 Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Old and New Whittington have some nice areas, also Brimmington and Newbold. Depends on your price range. Walton and Wingerworth are the pricier areas.
Rachylou Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Hi Im currently moving out of Chesterfield and back to Sheffield. (because of work matters). Chesterfield is a lovely place to live but like sheff, the better the area the higher the price. Stonegravels isn't particular a good area but there are worse! Walton, Ashgate and Brookside are the best but as i said pricey. I would avoid places like....Mastin moor, Staveley, Middlecroft and Barrowhill. Places like Newbold, Dunston, Brimmington, whittington and many more are more middle of the road kind of thing. Pm me if you want any more information although these are just my opinions. Good luck with the move though, it really is a nice place to live. Rachael
