stumathers Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 After that well know district of Rotherham? No, after the village that the new YES project will be built next to. Its going between Wales, Swallownest and Beighton.
the_rudeboy Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 No, after the village that the new YES project will be built next to. Its going between Wales, Swallownest and Beighton. That still doesn't alter the fact that Beighton is in Sheffield and the YES site won't be.
Sara1312 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I don't believe it!!! I go to see them every weekend and I know about the move. I didn't think it a good idea but was willing to travel the distance! But now, after knowing they may drop the Sheffield name!!! I will find it difficult to support them

Sara1312 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Thats a real supporters attitude YUP I don't see why they have to drop the name anyway? The Steelers were the Sheffield Steelers since the beginning, I think its
Bad_Hair_Day Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Rotherham also has a history as being a major steel producer (eg Tembleborough steel mill) so it's not as though the name "Steelers" has no connection with the new location. If they dropped the "Sheffield" bit, they might end up with a wider fan-base just because they don't identify themselves as being solely connected to one town/city. It's not as though the new location is miles away either, it's only just over the Rotherham border (and there's aren't any checkpoints or barbed wire fences to get through to go there!).
growler Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 This is Sheffield it could all go wrong yet remember the "Airport".
