Rich Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Oh for god sake! I've just got the 31 timetable to a tee and they're changing it?!
Maddy Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Am I being thick (wouldn't be the first time) but does that mean the 85/86 won't be running to Grimesthorpe, Meadowhall, Wincobank and Firth Park anymore??!

Yes is the answer, your replacement bus service over this section of route is 45/46
Maddy Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 You are joking! Bloody hate first Great the 85/86 (when it turns up) gets me and hubby straight through to work. When are they planning on telling us about this? Will it be the same route this end or wil we be reduced to one bus a fluffin hour that never turns up?

In all probability you'll have exactly the same bus service to Sheffield that you have now, but the numbers will be different and it won't carry on out the other side of town to go to Millhouses. There's a group of people whose paid job is to decide what changes are necessary. If no changes are necessary for the next few years, those people will be out of a job. What, do you think, are the chances of them ever deciding that no changes are necessary?

The 85/86 route is being split in half because the Ecclesall Road section is having an effect on reliability of the route with busses getting stuck in the traffic. The north section will be exacty the same as before the split being worked by low floor busses that can actually climb the hills unlike the old B6 busses on it now. The north side will be 45/46. The split is happening because why should the north side suffer for something on the south side and has the council won't help First get its busses through the traffic this is the only option left open to First. God you moan at unreliable busses now your moaning when First actually try to improve things for it's customers.

Ever thought of trying to improve things for its customers at Winn Gardens then We got ABANDONED by First after the flood..... Have I told you this before????

I see your point but the current route is actually very convinent for me and my husband as we get one bus to work. If it actually works then I won't mind changing buses but i have no faith in First to be honest so forgive me if all I can see is yet more missing buses and hassel. (I will be more than happy to eat humble pie if it works:thumbsup:)

Have I told you this before???? Well at leased you still had the tram think of those at Toll Bar which had no buses for months after Stagecoach abandoned them when they withdrew the number 62 service because it had not run for 3 weeks after the floods, luckily Arriva Yorkshire stepped in and they now have a bus service again.
