hiya coachman & tatty, thanks for dropping by the site :) i totally agree staffies get such bad press and a bad reputation because of it,we also have never crossed paths with an aggressive staffy, ours is a big baby :) shes great with our two kids and all of our cats there isn`t a bad streak in her:hihi:

I have 2 staffy's in the rescue - therefore could be a staffy 'owner' so am more than happy for lots of things to be helping them.

Hope you get lots of people joining.

cheers velvet drop by and register:)

I dont own a staff scorpio, nearest I got was a staff x-breed rescue many years ago. Have a totally different breed (though equally desired by the 'fashion statement' brigade out there :loopy:)

I wanna clear this issuse up for people who wanna judge me as a "bad" person

I rehomed keisha to a women who lived in manor (her and my other dog weren't getting along) and after less than 48hrs decided she couldn't cope with her because she didn't listen to her and had an accident in the house (bare in mind she was only 5months old) I offered to take the dog back but she wanted £100 cash for her

She said if she hadn't managed to sell her in 3 days time she was going to put her in the pound, I ended up falling out with this women and she cut all contact with me, I've shed more than a few tears over keisha and felt terrible guilt and have been worried sick over what happened to her :(

I also have 2 rescue dogs of my own and i am a responsible owner

Tara my staffy x puppy would be in the pound right now if she wasn't with me and as we all know staffys are difficult to rehome and need all the help they can get

Now this is exactly what we'd like to put across to all those people who are trying to give up their staffies 'because they deserve better' or 'because they need more attention' - in actual fact, the only way you can guarantee that your dog is cared for, is if you care for it. The only way you can guarantee it won't suffer if you decide you don't want it is to take it to your vets and have it PTS - and make sure they do, as they often take the dog, but send it for rehoming out of the kindness of their hearts

this isn't a comment on your decision at all angelic - you were doing what you thought was right, but it is a comment on the woman who took your dog

hopefully, with the help of a dedicated breed forum, more owners in your situation will have somewhere to turn to for advice on how to manage staffies in these circumstances, or will be able to assist in better placements for them if that doesn't work :)
