Tyranna Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I have a large quantity of old bicycle parts which I am wanting to get rid of, as well as an old bicycle which I am seeking parts for. Up to a couple of years ago, there was a very good shop selling, repairing and servicing bikes in Attercliffe, run by the 'Recycle' charity/co-op. About 18 months ago, they moved the business to a premises near Heeley City Farm, and I have been up there in the intervening period, but it seemed to be shut, even though I went there mid-week during the daytime, and the premises had an air of being deserted for some weeks at least. I also asked at Heeley city Farm across the road whether or not the bicycle place was still in business, but nobody there at the time had a clue. Does anyone know if 'Recycle' IS still in business, and if not, do you know of any other organisation which takes/recycles old bikes and parts?
531c Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I'm pretty sure they are still in business. I got these numbers from an old thread on here: - Des: 2507717 or Andy: 2500613
scrabble Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 It is still open but they have moved! Ash Tree Yard at the top of Thirlwell Road. directions available on http://www.recyclebikes.co.uk
craigpugh Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 The number above for Andy is still right, that's Heeley Development Trust which supports the Recycle Project. Tyranna if you pm me and let me know your contact details I'll get them to get in touch with you and sort it out. To anyone else who wants to support this great project, get in touch. Some of the work which has been done via the Trust/ Recycle with young kids has been incredible and well worth supporting. C xx
