Is this usual?

I decided to try the take away pizza from the drakehouse branch of Pizza Hut. I drove there and went through the door to a dedicated take away counter - only to be told there would be a 45+ minute wait!

I drove to QC's - picked up a pizza, took it home and ate it before the 45 minutes was up!

I've never had take-away from Pizza Hut, but you made the right choice anyway-I do love a bit of QC:love::D

For a Saturday evening, maybe - it's the busiest time of the week.

Normally it's half an hour tops. I've never had to wait 45 minutes, but then, I never go on Saturday evenings. Too damn busy.

It seems that they haven't improved. We went 2 years ago almost exactly. I remember it well, as it was a treat one midweek evening for our little boy, I was heavily pregnant, due to give birth any day. We were taken to a table and waited for someone to take our order. And waited, and waited. Eventually, waitress did come and take our order, and she fetched our drinks quite quickly.

Then we waited and waited and waited for our food. We had ordered starters and a main Pizza with a salad bowl to share. After about 45 mins of waiting and asking, our PIZZA arrived at the table. No starter. We were absolutely furious. We stood up, thanked them for the FREE drinks, and walked out.

The service was absolutely appalling. Having said that, there were what appeared to be "regulars" walking in, sitting down, getting their orders taken and food arriving at their tables while we were sat waiting and waiting. The excuse was "its a different waitress". I wrote and complained, and got a lovely, personal letter back from the area manager, apologising, saying that extra training would be given, and a voucher for £25.00. Needless to say we didn't go back to Drake house Pizza Hut.

You definitely should have played on this one. Telling the staff you were due anytime, coupled with a few moans and groans would had hurried them up.:hihi:

Years ago I picked someone up from Fulwood in my taxi to take her to the Jessops. She was in labour, as I soon found out :o You've never seen a cab go s'fast along Fulwood Road! :hihi:

So what is your complaint?

They were busy and told you it was a 45 minute wait?

Dunno about the Drakehouse branch, but the one on Abbeydale road is seemingly far too small to cater for demand. 9 times out of 10 when I ring for a delivery, they don't bother to even answer the phone, if they do it's usually a 90+ minute wait.
