Tigs   10 #13 Posted March 2, 2008 My faves  Manchester is always a good choice, with loads of gorgeous restaurants, good venues/shows, and great nightlife options.  If you're ok about a drive of 1.-2 hrs -....Chester..Leeds...York...Liverpool... Some of these have great restaurants and nightlife, the others have more cultural or historical interest!  I love the East coast - Whitby/Staithes/Robin Hoods Bay, but its quite cold this time of year!
