maggi Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hi Sharon You'll also need to know what association to set. What's the filename? If you can post it here, we should be able to help. Alternatively, can you ask the person who sent you the file what you'll need to open it?

cgksheff Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 ........... i don't know where this control panel is , can anyone help me please ........ Assuming that you are using Windows XP? From the "Start Button" > Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types Scroll down in the list of Registered File Types until you get 'DOC'. When you click on it you will see "Details ..." below and a button to "Change" the program associated to open DOC files. You may well have MS WORD already, but the settings have been messed up .... or not.
e912 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 if you want to email it to me i will convert it to a text file and send it back, alternatively you need open office (free download) or a word doc viewer which will let you see it and potentially print it download link here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displaylang=en
