MontyMole Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I've just downloaded the new free "Real Player" for my PC but when I now onto Youtube it won't show any videos. The thumbnails are still there at the side but the main video screen picture area is missing. Also disabled is my abillity to add comments. Any ideas as I'm a bit of a Youtube junkie
sixriver Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hi , I don't know if there is anything in the new real player that you need but I would uninstall it and use this http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm
MontyMole Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Thanks. I've downloaded that programme and used it but it still hasn't fixed the Youtube problem. I can watch Youtube videos which hav been embedded on other sites though if that helps.
sallonoroff Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Which browser are you using? Internet Explorer? You could try re-installing Flash... Or go with another browser, such as Firefox. .
Dude111 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Try doing a system restore TO BEFORE YOU INSTALLED THE NEW REALPLAYER (That might work) Good luck!
MontyMole Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 Tried the system restore but it won't allow me to. Tried Firefox but exact same probs as with IE. Tried to re-download Flash but it won't let me. Unistalled and re-installed Realplayer all to no avail.
sallonoroff Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Has .flv been associated with RealPlayer for some reason? Personally, i'd uninstall RealPlayer altogether (ie. not put it back on again!). .
Dude111 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Ya,the last good version of realplayer was 8 (And 8 Plus),that was the last version before AOL joined the team.......
