Hi,

I have volunteered myself to organise an event this April on behalf of Oxjam. (You may have seen a recent posting on here about it).

It will be a folk/indie/acoustic music event featuring possibly 6 to 8 bands. (more if possible!)

I am on with organising a suitable venue and date at the moment, so can't confirm as yet when or where, however I am on the look out for interested bands who would be willing to play the gig. The event will be a charity gig therefore no payment can be offered to acts but I'm sure a good deal of exposure can be gained from taking part, and of course lots of fun playing live, not to mention that its for a very good cause.

If you would like to take part or would like to offer your assistance with the project then let me know by way of PM.

I would be requesting some kind of demo material in order to decide on a line up.

Cheers guys, and look forward to lots of interest!!

Aidan.

i would have liked to take part but don't fit the requirement of folk/indie/acoustic..i'd of thought if it was for charity you would be best doing a more varied event to attract people from different genres?

Hi

I'm interested. We are a month old band, a kind of soul thing with an afro-latin groove. We can play acoustic, at the moment we're a four piece but we will grow in time. We've had one gig so far, at the Lescar last tuesday and they've booked us again at the Nottingham House (I'm new to Sheffield so that might mean something or nothing to you) We are starting to play around the open mic nights, and we have a gig booked in April at the Green Room. We don't have a demo but we'd be happy to meet and sing you a couple of songs anytime.

Get in touch

Good luck

James
