I have been bitten by many things most of them nips and near misses, apart from a killer rabbit who would not let go, I literally had her hanging of the fleshy bit in front of my thumb..

hamster bites are bad they get your finger ends and always hit the little vessels so it bleeds for ages

Thank yourself lucky it could have been a Python ..this is what mine did when i had to stop him from trying to eat our cat..... bye the way the cats fine lol . .....i nearly lost my fingers due to the infection that set in afterwords
