ukstudent Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Just wondered if anyone knew if you have to pay for jabs needed to travelling such as tetanus, hepititus b, typhoid etc from your doctor. As one person has said they would be free yet someone else said you have to pay Anyone know how much they are if so?
heavenlyarts Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Well.. Your tetanus should be upto date, they last 10 years, tetanus is normally free Hep B, if you're in an at risk group you can get for free. I got it free as I'm a scuba diver and at risk diving around the UK shores. Typhoid and other tropical jabs cost, upto £75.00 and you may have to travel some distance to get the jabs. most of the tropical vaccines come in batches of 10, your local doctor would not do it as he'd have 9 to waste. You'll need to search around for a surgery doing them (when I needed them the closes was nottingham).
ukstudent Posted February 21, 2008 Author Posted February 21, 2008 ok thanks I think I'll contact my doctors surgery
willman Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 i got all mine except anti malaria FOC at the surgery. 2 jabs, one in each thigh.
Thunzi Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The University Health Clinic, just off West Street, deals with all tropical vaccinations that you'll (probably) need, should your GP not have something in stock.
