How sympathetic are you?

Hubby`s been complaining of back ache:roll: Now don`t get me wrong, at first I am a little bit sympathetic, but after a while it really starts to get on my nerves. Everytime he moves, tries to get up or even nod his head"ooo, eeee, owwww, argh!"

He "suffers" with back pain like this quite regularly:suspect:but when I say to him, If its that bad, that much he should see the dr, he claims I am being unsympathetic, maybe its because I laugh at him all the time:D

How sympathetic are you lot?

Will you rally round fluffing up cushions?

Cook and clean around the invalid?

How long for?

How bad would they have to be?

Could you see through a blagger?

Lot of questions there I know, but I am very nosey:D

I have no sympathy for anyone except for myself because... well, Im male. :D

I TRY hard to get sympathy from my OH when Im on deaths doorstep with something lethal like a head cold but she just tells me to stop whining so shes not a very sympathetic person, in fact, Id go so far as to say thes nasty because when I stub my toe or fall down the stairs she laughs!

get him a HOMEDIX back vibrator, they have a website, and also Argos may sell them, they can be strapped to a chair, very soothing for when I used a chair, now I have wireless I sit on the sofa and type

I have a permanant bad back. I take 3 different types of pain killers and use a TENS machine (you can buy the machine from any good chemist)

As for being sympathetic, it depends on the person and the situation, if its my oh and he has 'man flu' not a chance of sympathy

I can`t see us men getting much sympathy on here either Jabbers.

Women are notoriously unsympathetic towards the plight of men and their ailments, when we suffer from the many agonizing diseases that we are prone to, they tell us to stop whining and then usually go on to tell us about something trivial such as a 12 hour stint in labour-- as if thats bad! A bloke could do that and not even realise hes doing it, yet, when a woman goes through it, she screams, whines, yells at the poor bloke then goes on to remind him about it for the rest of her life, as if her being in labour is his fault or something!

IMO you seem to have a death wish today:hihi:

not too sure about the 12 hour labours, screams etc, had 3 kids longest labour 3 hours no screaming (and no epidurals either) and of cause men are to blame for everything

I suppose i am a bit of a mollycoddler, i perhaps over indulge, probably to the point where people want to be left alone to be ill

'would you like some chicken soup'

'do you want me to fluff your pillows up'

'dont move...i'll get it'

that sort of stuff! if i could take away the illness of someone else and suffer for them i would. A psychologist would probably say i had feelings of inadequacy or something, and feel the need to make myself feel wanted or needed!! :help:

But it annoys me when people whinge and moan cos they are just a bit on the pathetic side anyway, like having a day off cos they broke a nail or something. :hihi:
