Agree with the comments about parking, buses passing and CoOp deliveries on Crimicar.

Solutions:

Parking/buses passing:

Main problem is on the first bend, because you don't know what's coming the other way till you get there, and then there's no room to get out the way. So a short length of yellow line on the first bend, just above Crimicar Close, right hand side going up, at the point at which either way you can see next bit of road and wait if need be.

And for rest of parking and CoOp loading problems, get the parking wardens to do more than drive round and take a look. Actually to be fair there was a car with a ticket on the other day up in the bus stop near Moorcroft Road. Time was CoOp was the 'caring sharing CoOp', but they don't seem bothered these days, there are regular close misses when delivery lorries are illegally loading. Council organises a 'walking bus' from there, and it must be quite dangerous trying to get kids accross the road with vision obstructed.

Parking Wardens down there actually issueing tickets is the only way.

There's the same cars parked in bus stops every day in ******* and in ************** too. Come on Parking Services do your job.

Ban on-road parking on the bus route!

It'll never happen as Fulwood/ Lodge Moor people would rather shoot their wives than give up their cars, but it'd make it a lot safer and cause less hold ups.

Or would they rather shoot their husbands?

Seriously though, Crimicar Lane suffers from the same problems as many suburban roads in Sheffield, i.e. every household now has 2 cars, but only has a drive for one, hence the roads are lined with cars creating effective single track roads.

One other problem is the actual junction of Crimicar Lane, Brookhouse Hill and Brooklands Avenue (right outside the Co-op).

This is a nasty junction to negotiate when coming out of Crimicar Lane, whether to turn left into and up Brookhouse Hill but moreover, when going straight on down Brookhouse Hill (toward Whiteley Lane) or right into Brooklands Avenue. This is one 'blind' junction.

Add a bus or two to the scenario and things can get hairy. A bus turning into Brookhouse Hill from Crimicar Lane and one coming the other way for example. There's little room to maneouvre!

Maybe lights would be an answer here but I'd guess there have actually been few accidents due to the fact that you've really got to have your wits about you to negotiate this particular section of road.

So used to it by now it's never a problem....it's only people who don't know the junctions who get into a pickle.....and 'ladies' (school run usually) with massive Range Rovers who don't know how to steer, this is ALWAYS a problem as most of them still think a Range Rover can have the same turning circle as a Ford Ka......not quite............I saw a Range Rover attempting to squeeze between a bus and parked car down there 2 days ago and she had to reverse about 6 times in order to get through, thought she was in a Smart car or something.....

Drove there yesterday, I was getting very annoyed and frustrated!

Better public transport (although it's not that bad) and a load of tarmac.

You're just waiting for that patched-up bit at the bottom of Crimicar Lane to cave in aren't you?

Keep a camera and measuring tape in the car for when it happens. Then get that claim in!
