bagger
quite alot of people ARENT over it tho homophobic attacks, assaults and abuse STILL goes on im afraid...even in the 21st centuary So a poster telling them to get over it is going to cure that? I doubt it.
melthebell
So a poster telling them to get over it is going to cure that? I doubt it. i never mentioned the poster would cure it, i never even mentioned that was the reason for the poster campaign...i was purely replying to patricias bit "We already have done.! Its somewhat behind the times." stating some people obviously ARENT OVER IT

Savannah2
Do we really need these stupid signs? No! We do not. They are a waste of money and serve no useful purpose.
StarSparkle
I don't suppose it has occured to the ' Stonewall ' people that they may be on the wrong track ? There have been organisations to stamp out racialist bad behaviour and it doesn't appear to have made a blind bit of difference ; ditto homophobia. Perhaps if they stopped going on about it, people might actually behave better. A lot of people, particularly teenagers, simply don't like to be told or advised who they should like or what they should think. Such people might act even nastier than they would otherwise, out of sheer cussedness. At any rate, the present system, the ' Stonewall ' approach seems to have failed dismally. I agree with you, Fareast. I think the Stonewall people have really shot themselves in the foot with this. StarSparkle

JoeP
The problem with a lot of this sort of advertisng is that it's designed by educated, liberal people and as a result tends to appeal to educated, liberal people...who're least likely to be bigoted anyway. I don't think this sort of advertising works at all - the knuckle draggers tend to understand the much simpler language of being prosecuted and punished for the actions stemming from their bigotry.
