medusa
To answer your question Slimsid, just read the story of Madalyn Murray O'Hair. I'll admit that she was abrasive and outspoken so could rub people up the wrong way, but there were an awful lot of things that were alleged about her and her family purely because she was an atheist. pattricia
No, America is not ready for an atheist president. (But I am; I believe in total separation of church and state.) I'll go one-step further and say that America is not even ready for a non-Christian president. Yes I agree with you HH. I also believe in total separation of church and state. I think most people would welcome one HH, they just won't admit it until the time comes, I agree with you, separation of church and State is a good thing....and I still don't believe all these polticians are as religious as they say they are, "all of a sudden"

Mormonism is one of those new American denominations, they think the Garden of Eden is in Missouri and that black people shouldn't be allowed to be vicars. Of course America isn't 'ready' for it's first atheist president, neither is any country, I hope, how can a whole country be trusted by someone who 'believes in nothing' as they say. Anyway, most politicians are middle class, and the middle classes tend to be more religious than any other class nowadays.
