The squirrel is fine now in the day time.

I cannot comment about night time. It is clean and friendly and has an indoor play area for kids (charged at £1.50)

it was revampted about 10 years ago, completely different place, family pub now.

And the Lord Nelson has been closed for a while now.

The Falcon has become a Thai restaurant (quite nice by all accounts).

I heard some good reports about the Thai Restaurant Cyclone, but I haven't been yet. I might nip into the Squirrel though just for the satisfaction of not having to watch my back on the way out..lol
