Where were the photographs taken - Please

Recommended Posts

I know that we both did climb the Eagle Stone in 1961-4. That is certain & I know that photographs were taken.

What I don't know. Is the 1st & 2nd photo the Eagle Stone. The White marking is the definite clue.

I hope that I can find another photo, but in the sixties we didn't take a lot, I wished we had.

Thank you for the Picture.

Fraid not, nothing like the same features, but I do remember a similar CND mark, ie a little skewed on the stone at surprise corner, could it be there Joe?

The trig point pillar is very like that at Mam Tor (nearly all the others in the area are cast concrete), but I had been telling myself that it couldn't be because of the smooth surrounds in Albert's photo.

However, I now realise that the cobbles that pave the tumulus today were put there by the 'trust' to minimise erosion.

If this was done since Albert's 'happy days', it could explain the difference.
