Caborn's car stolen

Recommended Posts

To start with its not funny he lives just on our road is anyone gonna laugh it is our house next?

Also not all MP's are d***s, he is a fantastic down to earth bloke, does he live in a massive house paid for by us with our taxes? NO he just lives in normal Basegreen. He also did fantastic job as sports minister which is why he was the longest serving sports minister (I believe). Please lets be fair to one of the only MP's we have ever had that stayed amongst us and lived like us.

I have known Richard Caborn for the last 36 years, as the Works Convenor at Firth Brown, as an MEP and as a Westminster MP. He is a really decent bloke who has never forgotten his roots & has always done his best for those he was elected to represent.

He was never been like blair/brown (and their ilk) who firmly believe in those good old fashioned right wing anti-socialist principles such as p**s on the poor, dump on the disadvantaged, destroy the disabled & s**t on the sick. Compare his record to that of some of the baboons masquarading as Labour MPs in this city in the past (Hooley, Mulley, Blunkett to name but three) and you may begin to see where I am coming from.

For people to come on here gloating because he has the misfortune to have his car nicked is in IMO utterly disgusting and they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Richard is one of the good guys so please, reserve your contempt for those in Parliament who deserve it, the blue torys on the opposition benches and the pink torys (we all know who they are) on the Government benches.

I'm quite sorry that he had his car nicked, it shouldn't happen to anybody really. But, I'm afraid that I can't match up your description(s) of Mr Caborn with what I have personally seen and know of his performance as an MP.

Just ask him what he did about the (complaints, issues, reported incidents, etc) Parkwood landfill site.

If he gives an answer let us know. We're still waiting for one.

On 28 June 2007 it was announced he would step down as Minister for Sport to become an ambassador for Britain's possible 2018 World Cup bid.

And don't worry to much about him having to cycle now, he took delivery of a brand spanking new car (same model as the nicked one) within days of the theft.

I had a word with Dick and Margaret this morning and it turns out that the 'brand spanking new car' was a rental and has now gone back to the dealers.

Richard and Margaret thank SF'ers for their concern, compassion etc.

I probably would if I'd seen him demonstrate it himself in the first place. At a public meeting with the MP present, there was a disctinct lack of humanity - or interest in the plight of others - for that matter. Strange, but I thought that was what he was elected to do.

my experience too. I wrote to him over a month ago about a matter affecting me and a lot of other people and he couldnt even be bothered to write back. A quick look on theyworkforyou.com shows he is particularly poor at corresponding with people. So if he doesnt care about his constituents why should they care about him?
