Anyone from Wybourn?

Went on to wybourn 1948 on maltravers terrace near the bus stop first real house we had up to then we used to rent peoples attics and cellars thought we were real posh. Any of you real oldies remember Charlie Mills his horse and cart selling fruit and veg round the estate

Just about remember the gas lamps being lit at night on the side roads

,and then the change over to electic.

Anyone remember Johny Collins (I think) the rag and bone man.

And Millie,the woman who used to collect all the horseracing bets door to door.

Lived on boundry rd played football on fields near tip called ourselves bassett swans

hi all you people i lived on maltravers //// in 1945/6 with a family called oats nearby was a family called mitchell and porson how are they now?????

I married into the Cheetham family in 74...I believe they lived on Whites Lane? Fred Lil and 7 boys.

wybournite too,lived on manor oaks close next to eightfoot from 64-80

Only 1 burkinshaw lived on there with a brother.I new him well. CID lol.

I am also an ex wybournite went to wybourn school and then on to hurlfield in 1983 I lived on maltravers terrace. corner of manor oaks where its grassed over to stop cars getting all the way from top to bottom wybourn in one go. They still did though dispite the barriers at the bottom lol! many a day there would be tyre marks in the grass.. and broken barriers

yes i was born and bred on the wybourn lived on boundary road good old days

my anty still lives on there and a lot of mates

i knew the roberts wilds seronis hursts owens scotts weatherstones and the list goes on

i remmber we use to go to millhouses park on a sunday mrs ramsden use to cook a joint and the rest use to take bread and other stuff and have a picnic . them was the days

 

 

Can you tell me more about the hursts.
