HotPhil   10 #2 Posted November 15, 2007 I'm sure I've seen a pile at the local 'recycling centre'. Have a look on the council website (link through to Veolia or whatever they're called) and check.
 Share this content via...
The_Bear   10 #3 Posted November 15, 2007 Im sure your local council tip will take them.  If not, when I last purchased a battery from the battery shop on Shoreham Street, they took my old one. Dont know if they dispose of them in an environmental way though.
 Share this content via...

father ted   10 #5 Posted November 16, 2007 You can take them to a dump it site, they have a box for collecting them in, I guess they will recycle the lead etc in them.
 Share this content via...

redrobbo   10 #7 Posted November 16, 2007 There is a car battery shop on the corner of Shoreham Street and Charlotte Road which has a notice in their window announcing that they will take old batteries off your hands for free. Bucketta   10 #11 Posted November 18, 2007 Just chuck em in the woods or something.  Aha. The Anti-Blunkett contingent continues I see. Is anything sacred?  Incidentally, car batteries are covered by hazardous waste regulations which means when you buy a new one the shop should take the old one or offer you some assistance in getting rid of it. Also any domestic dump-it site should have an area for batteries.
 Share this content via...
