Steam trains in Sheffield megathread

Any forummers checking this out - can you take some pics and post them please. I'd love to see a newly built steam engine.

 

Which way is it heading out of Sheffield, does anyone know?

 

edit -- checked the timetable, and it's off towards Beighton.

It will be at Barrow Hill on the 4th and 5th of April with other kettles.

I think I'm going to drive out to Beighton, see if I can shoot a mobile video of the thing steaming past. Timetable says it should be there at about 12:30.

Went down after reading about train coming to Sheffield Train Station on Sheff Forum and got some ok Phots.

It would be great to photograph one of these going over a long viaduct - going to look into it- http://www.A1STEAM.com - on the front of the train.

Quite enjoyable - sights, smells, sounds etc.

There is an event at Barrow Hill Roundhouse - 6 stram loco's in stram and others

Sat 4th / Sun5th - you have to pay though to get in.

The full timeings for this have been on the forum for a few days but were in the history section - for legal / security reasons, however a photo of tornado in sheffield

as already been on the forum , during the test runs last autum when it came in to sheffield under cover of darkness as part of its proving runs:

Some really great pics there. We managed to catch it briefly at Beighton Junction , it appeared to be running about 10 minutes fast. We missed it at the bridge near Stavely and only caught up with it at Barrow Hill Depot.

 

Barrow Hill Depot was a revelation, worth a visit.

OMG! Isn't she beautiful with her spanking green livery?! Gutted I missed her, but was fortunate enough to see Oliver Cromwell at Loughborough under steam for the first time since the boiler was refitted about a year ago (my Dad was busy steaming up and down the line in Sir Lamiel at the time!).
