I think steamies operate on the line more than once a year.

Most steam tours and most steam loco movements but not all as some are kept quiet until after/ some are changed/ some are cancelled.

Where the info is in the public people do put the times where known on here . Keep an eye on this forum.

 

Alot of the steam specials now go via the back line so they can be serviced at barrow hill round house

In the loop at Woodseats Road – officialy known as helley down passanger loop

the Flying Scotsman stopped running in 2006 but I did see it when I used to work at Acorn Business Park on Woodseats Road, so to answer your question yes you may have seen it in the past.

 

For anyone who didn't get to see it you can go and visit it in York Museum.

 

I was lucky enough to go on the flying scotsman as a child, great memories!

Hi, a steam train has just gone through Totley and Dore station, whistles and all.. Just wondered if anyone knows if it was for a special event? Very nostalgic
