I have been trying to find the photograph in the old Star newspapers of the burning of the Glossop's Caravan at Little Matlock and have not been successful.

 

I noticed in one of your postings you say uyou knew the site well.

 

Can you give me any clue when the caravan was burn't as I'm at a loss which year to search in the newspapers.

 

At the rate I'm looking it could take months.

 

I've been down to the Star newspaper office but they are no help as they no longer keep the old Pictures.

 

Any help would be appreciated. PopT

pop t,sorry i dont know when it burnt down only were it was,the spot is still there but now overgrown with trees.It was just past the penknife tip on the left,the rd widens like a small layby,sorry I can't help more.

Hi there im George Byron Glossop,s great grand son i have a couple of photo,s of him one next to the caravan with Tom etc, i have been researching Toms movement to USA via Canada and have aquired great info im now trying to trace his son JACK.

Which Tom Glossop are you tracing?

 

As far as I know, the Tom who emigrated to Canada did not have a son called Jack.

 

If there was another Tom Glossop who emigrated I would love to know, can you please give any dates?
