Greeters who ask if they can help you before you even get over the threshold... particularly bad in Gap, where every assistant seems to be contracted to ask you at least twice, then to prolong the agony the till person then asks (before and after serving you) if anyone has been helping you today.

Come on FFS. Work it out, the nightshift fill the shelves, then the customers empty the shelves.....then amazingly the staff have to refill the shelves, else the customers at busy times would have nothing to buy. Get a grip...it's not sodding rocket science...or is it

I've been meaning to tell you, if you aim for the moon and miss you'll be drifting forever in the cold, dark vacuum of space.

Staff in Boots @Meadowhall who shove giant trolley things about and seem to have forgotten how to say 'excuse me' when sneaking up behind.(Three times in last 10 days)

Claires Accessories who insist on you having a huge net basket when all you want is a pack of hair grips.

Kids who run around the store shouting and getting in the way during food shopping - what kinda parents let their kids do this? How silly!

Checkout staff who pop a 'no more customers, till closed' sign on the conveyor just as I've got into a queue which doesn't contain half of Britain.

Recently, broken glass on Waitrose shelves and in Tesco freezer section - what's that about? When you tell someone either you've cut yourself, or so they can clean it they look all puzzled and confused.

The 3 staff it took to find 1 box of breadcrumbs in Waitrose last week. It was like an Ealing comedy. (not my breadcrumbs I hasten to add).

Stores who only accept certain types of plastic. I have Switch but some people have Solo and certain stores don't accept Solo, I see that as very biased since it's more likely to have money on it than a Switch card is, otherwise it can't be used at all.

GRrrrr

it always annoys me how they give you the change from a large note and put a note in your hand then drop all the shrapnel on top of that so it slides all over the place as you try to put it away.....and when you are at the checkout frantically packing bags as they hurl everything down towards you throught the till then once you have paid start with the next customer whilst all your stuff is still there....have started not paying them till all my bags are packed now - makes a point and makes me feel better too - must be getting crabby in mi old age...

I agree with this totally! The worse thing is when you are on your own with a considerable amount of shopping... whilst you are piling it all onto the conveyor belt, the assistant start putting it through the till, so that by the time you get to the other end to pack it all into bags there are piles of shopping stacked up, the operator wants your money and the next person is already waiting to put their stuff through! This happened to me today and I had to simultaneously wrestle with three carrier bags and my purse whilst the woman behind me in the queue tutted loudly at my obvious incompetence! Arghh!

What annoys me in shops? People! In particular, the annoying ones who wear rucksack type bags. The human brain doesn't seem to allow for the fact that with a rucksack the body is significantly larger, therefore before they turn around they should check that they aren't going to have someones eye out, or send them flying. Rucksack wearing gits :hihi:

Oh, and people who dawdle along and block the aisles. Don't they know Draggletail is in a rush?:hihi: :hihi:

I hate it when I am browsing and a shop assistant comes over to ask if they can help me.

This is very irritating.

Then when you say no they look all up set and ask you again five minutes later.

No No No, leave me alone I am shopping and you cant help untill I ask you to so go away. haha

And yet as soon as you need assistance they are nowhere to be seen. Or all engaged in a private discussion about last night's episode of Corrie.
