I lived underneath you on Fitzwilliam Row. Me Dad used to go in The Washington and my mum worked there doing the meals. The landlord was called Bill and his wife Barbara. Many happy times we did have on the flats :)

Barbara died a couple of months ago.

I will ask her when I see her. Yep we lived on Fitzwilliam Row until 1979/80.

Broomhall flats was my stomping ground from the age of 2 to 12, leaving in 1980.

This place was absolutely massive, excellent for hiding and you could ride your bike for hours without ever being on the ground floor.Loads of playing areas, adventure playground next to Springfield School. I lived at monmouth gardens then up to High Headford, i remember some of the names that have been mentioned in this thread and i'm sure my last name or my brothers M,D,A Bramhall may jog some memories.Always wondered what happened to the flats after leaving Sheffield, also remember hanging outside Viners and waiting for the steam to come up from the street grates and just laughing my head off as i stood over the grates.

Hey Skutch, I know this reply is about 2 years later but thought I'd respond anyhow, I remember your brothers well, M being the oldest then D then A. A was in my year, I remember him leaving to live with his mum on the coast if my memory serves me right, I can't remember you though, I thought it was just the 3 of them, hope you guys are all doing well.
