Im not a big lover of going out either, the majority of places I realised just arent to my tastes, but.. I still like a drink, so I just go out mid-week instead to the quieter or specialist pubs (Dev Cat, Fat Cat, Sheaf View etc.)

If I dont do that, then whats wrong with a pizza and a film/music round a mates flat?

it's reassuring to know that there's someone else out there who doesn't live for getting completely wasted every night!

My boyfriend and I aren't anti-alcohol but there definitely seems to be something about being in a studenty place that makes bars and pubs fairly horrible unless u want to get trashed (which we dont!)

We seem to spend a lot of time at the Botanical Gardens, which is nice if u like squirrels etc!! Apart from that we go to the cinema.. download films (very naughty..) buy DVDs and watch them, go shopping with all our non-alcohol wasted money!, go exploring the city...

Do you play any sport? If so, it would be great to join a club of some kind.. or just find someone to play more leisurely. Or maybe even a gym, because I guess health/fitness-conscious people might not want to be destroying their livers!

Which uni are u at?

How about a good wander round the countryside? Or doing the round walk? Plenty of nice places to go walking in Sheffield if you're that way inclined.

What else? Hmm...

Football/rugby match

Take up photography

Join an am dram group

Do the boozing stuff (such as going to a gig or clubbing) but just don't drink while you're there

Computer games (can be social if you get a two player racing game or something)

Museum/church/stately home visiting

Cards is a good idea (and texas hold-em is a great laugh - definitely recommend it)

Why not do one of those geeky Games Workshop RPG things (Dungeons and Dragons)

Invite your mates round and cook a meal

Loadsa stuff!
