sedith   19 #1707 Posted September 24, 2016 There not bad at Manor top I agree, the one at Manor Top, they are pretty good and a fair price, can't say the same about the Admiral at Birley shops though ... what a load of greasy cr*p! The wife's relations live at Dore, had some good food from there, the Yorkshire fishcakes were excellent!
 Share this content via...
DerbyTup   10 #1708 Posted September 27, 2016 Ok, hot debate time, what and where is the best chippy in Sheffield, chips have to be cooked in dripping or lard and they have to sell big white bread cakes covered in flour. I think the best is Johns in Stocksbridge.  That's a good recommendation! I've never tried it - but if they still do chips in dripping and serve big white floury breadcakes then that sets them apart from almost everywhere else.  I do miss "traditional" fish and chips. The flavour was superior.
 Share this content via...

lkm500 Â Â 10 #1716 Posted October 14, 2016 FYI the one on Sharrow Vale Road (two steps, I think it is called) is closed on Sundays. I was surprised as I would imagine it being one of the busiest nights for fish and chips!
 Share this content via...
