I hate to think how much I have spent in The Admiral Mosborough over the years! Does anybody know if there were more than 5 of them and where was number 4?

The Admiral 1 Killamarsh

The Admiral 2 Mosborough

The Admiral 3 Frecheville

The Admiral 5 Beighton

Admiral 4 was a specialist mole-like one that lived in the belly of Admiral 2.

The Admiral in Crookes is a great chippy, and much better than the other Admirals Ive tried.

Any chippie that doesn't chuck chicken fryits and god knows what else into the same fat  that the chips and fish are cooked in . I know one in Manchester where their menu is cod haddock plaice and mushy peas and chips that's it. I go past twice a week an they are queiuing in the street. been in three times and I can see what all the fuss is about now

Five star 🌟 at Crookes in my opinion the best chippy in Sheffield. If you like proper fishcakes that's the place to go. Very friendly staff.

Not the Old - Proper Fish Cake argument -

Living on the Further Outskirts of Sheff asking for a Fish Cake is like a game of Russian Roulette.

A Rissole covered in Batter is NOT A FISHCAKE

& a Scallop is a Shell Fish NOT a Slice of Potato in Batter.

In that respect Two Slices of Potato with Fish in the middle and Battered in that way of thinking is a Fish Scallop.

But to us We Know a Proper FISH CAKE when we see one.

Some Chippy owners still get quite indignant regarding us (outsiders) telling them their mistake - LOL

I used to take a couple of well vinegar'd Cold Fishcakes to work (Milkman) for Breakfast (4o'clock starts) although they probably wern't

that cold if we had been late in - LOL

Keep Safe - Eat Well

It must be the only chippie in Manchester that doenst sell (steak n kidney) puddings! Though it's a good rule of thumb - the shorter the menu the better the chip shop.

Or even more so - the shorter the opening hours, the better the chip shop.

Manor top fish bar is open, but only doing 11 till 6. I've seen people queueing outside the one on Woodseats when I've passed it on my way home from work, but don't know what time it's opening till. Think there's a few doing delivery on just eat as well
