Webbo   10 #1 Posted October 15, 2007 Hi All  Does anyone know if it is possible to hide your contact information (address, telephone number) from the whois database for a .com domain name. I know you can opt out with the .co.uk domains, I don't want my address and phone number being published on the net.  Any thoughts?  Cheers
 Share this content via...
punk   10 #2 Posted October 15, 2007 I don't think you can, not in the same way as .uk's. There are anonymous registrars who will register the domain name for you under their own business name so yours are never revealed. Depends how much you trust them, most UK based hosts will probably do something similar if you ask, but I'd definately get it in writing that you own the domain before they register it for you (saves the hassle later). Ghozer   112 #4 Posted October 15, 2007 You can choose to have your registrant details hidden, just email your domain provider (who you registered through) and they should be able to do it, if they wont/cant, just email nominet... punk   10 #5 Posted October 15, 2007 nominet are .uk, as the OP said they DO have an option to hide registrents details. Network Solution's/Verisign/whatever they callthemselves these days (.coms) DON'T (as far as i'm aware).
 Share this content via...
