Just as I believe that immigrants who settle here should embrace the British language/culture, I also believe that ex-pats etc should embrace the countries they go to.

How about the fact that a paedophile knowing he's likely to be castrated chemically if caught might be a) more likely to kill his victims or b) refuse to comply with supervision and 'dassapear' thus at liberty to commit further offences?
