funkymiss   10 #49 Posted October 16, 2007 why has no one picked up the the op must be a serial salesperson judging by their user id  I'm sure everyone's aware of that! Not a bad idea to suss out what people's opinions are on something before you venture with it
 Share this content via...

Plain Talker   11 #51 Posted October 16, 2007 I'd far rather consult with the mum-to-be, myself, and ask if there's anything specific she's looking for, in the way of "baby needs", than go to some glorified pippa dee/ tupperware party, being sold what's possibly overpriced tat, that may, or may not fit the needs of the baby or mum to be.  A baby shower is where the friends and family of the mum to be turn up, en masse, and surprise the mum with pressies etc.  What you are describing is a sales pitch as I said above, nothing more than a glorified pippa dee party... I think that's what I and most of the other objectors on this thread are taking issue with.  You can put up as many balloons as you like, festoon as many banners and ribbons as you like around the room. But the cold hard facts, once you've wiped away the razzle and the dazzle, are that you are only bringing the wares along, in order to part us from our cash, not really to have a "bash" for the mum to be.
