anyone no of any free trout fishing round the south of sheffield

try the river don m8 had some nice fish last year returned them back to the water tho!

witch bit is the best or is it all the same ? and do you need a specific licence or will a normal one be ok ?

It's a real shame they don't stock Underbank and Dam Flask with trout each year.

Try Riverlin, It's free and holds trout, They tell me..Let us know how you get on

Certainly up as far as Deepcar.

Well as Rivelin, Deepcar, and the Don aren't in the South of Sheffield I guess the answer's no there isn't any free trout fishing there. You need an Environment Agency licence to fish, £22 for the year or you can get a week or even a day licence. If you're caught without one its a court case.

Don't forget, the trout you catch won't be replaced so put them back. If you want one for the table then try the Fish Market.

Is that the same as the old NRA rod licence?

 

I have an old fly rod and reel and some trout flies. Everywhere I've looked on the don looks troublesome for casting - any suggestions?
