Starting a Book Club

Does anyone fancy starting a book club in the Walkley/Crookes area?

 

Would like to meet up once every month. Happy to enjoy a selection of books, from best selling thrillers to classics. All ages and walks of life welcomed. Prob best to start meeting in a local pub.

Looks like we've got four people so far, so it could be on! How about we get together sometime in the next couple of weeks to meet up and discuss what book we should first tackle - is any evening good/bad for you?

I d suggest mon-thurs as people are more likely to be away/busy on other nights. Mon seems a good day as unlikely to be much else to do?!

Im new to sheffield so area means little to me If there are good buses or you can park in the vicinity Im quite happy. I live in S5 beside the Northern General at present.

There is another book club thread and it would be worth trying to cross link but I have little idea how to do that?!

Great. How about next Monday? We could meet at a pub called the Walkley Cottage on Bolehill Road. It's approx 15 mins bus ride from the Northern General.

 

By the way, I think the person who tried to start the other book club thread you mentioned will be joining us.

 

Is 7.30 ok for you? I normally get back from work about 7 so that's the earliest I can do.

unfortunately, next monday is the one day that I cant do as I arrive back from london at 2200. BUt I think you should go ahead and evryone meet up and choose a book. Dont delay on my account! As long as I know the book then I ll be there for the next one. Of course, if you change the day for next week then I ll be there.

Dont choose TOO big a book though willya?!
