Leeds Utd - putting Sheffields clubs to shame

Recommended Posts

Leeds Utd are rampaging up Division 1, and look certain to be promoted as champions.

40 miles down the road, Sheffield (a city slightly bigger) has 2 football clubs

1) one of them gets relegated last season, complains about bad luck etc.... this season, are precariously close to the relegation zone and its only the start of October

2) The other hapless club look certain to get relegated. Lets think... Democracy in Burma by May 2008, or Sheffield Wednesday to avoid relegation in May 2008. Which one would you put your money on?

There is the option of merger, you'll get crowds of 45 - 50000 per game, be playing in the premiership welcoming the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, instead of Yeovil, Colchester Utd etc.....

Still as long as you Blades get the 6 points from the Owls, nothing else matters.

COME ON LEEDS !!!

I THINK you find barnsley are putting sheffield clubs to shame:hihi:

as leeds utd are in a LOWER DIVISION!:hihi:

ARNT leeds still near the bottom of the lge:hihi:

when Wednesday started bringing in foreigners in they started to decline De Boer, Jonk, Sibon all good players but not for a team chasing Europe did well in Championship though . United shouldnt have got relegated but Championship is about right level for them as it is for Wednesday both clubs have lost something they used to have and neither deserve to be in Premiership and on the recent evidence we could have the Sheffield derby in League 1 next season

when did we sign de boer

Spot on,

They threw so much money at DiCanio and Carbone and even Reggie Blinker and never really recovered from it.

thats not spot on at all Dicanio was a great player and worth the fee and wages it was dave richards who did not want to jepodise his up and coming job at the f.a so he did not back dicanio after the allcock push

it was danny wilson who bought the likes of de bilde, jonk, sibon the two or 3 scottish crocks on high wages and long contracts that we have never recovered from nowt to do with dicanio, carbone,or regi blinker di canio proved what a great player he was after he left us he and benni were worth paying to watch which cannot be said about many since them

on another note ron atkinson leaving for villa was bad for us too maybe warnock leaving you after last year may be proving the same

True, Leeds are in a lower division.

Next season, Leeds will be in a higher division than Wed.

There's something very very suspect about the good fortune Leeds are enjoying at the moment. If you look at their wins this season nearly every one has been as a result of a lucky injury time winner. We all know that the people who run Leeds are not in the least bit corrupt. but might it be suggested that the refs might have some motivation for playing on until Leeds score and then immediately blowing the final whistle?

Given that as a result of their lucky streak the 15 point deduction has proved to be no deterrent to other clubs who mismanage their finances, is there not an argument for deducting Leeds United a further 15 points?

Sod it. Lets make it a 150 point deduction.

Its painful to see how well Leeds are doing at the minute. The only consolation we can take from it is that, at least for this season anyway, we're in a higher division than them. The Blades are shocking at the minute though. Robson out!

They might be doing well on the pitch, but their fans are still letting them down, chasing the ref down the tunnel.

As for Dennis Wise, I don't think his own mother likes him.

Even the Blades appear to have lost their appetite for a fight.

The Owls seemed to lose their appetitefor a fight when they began signing expensive foregn players in the mid 1990's.

Result === its there for all to see.

He may have been a cartoon character, but Warnock is greatly missed at the Lane.

As for Leeds, I'm a fan, and I despaired at first about Dennis Wise being in charge, but credit to him, he has turned us a round nicely.

Lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope Bates doesn't asset strip when he gets the chance. Don't trust him at all.
