scottsmith   10 #8 Posted July 6, 2010 M1 to Derby, A38 towards Lichfield, and follow the signs to Alton Towers  Everytime.  Whatever you do, don't go shortest route, we went through the village of Alton, that was an experience. All narrow roads, wide enough for one car, through the middle of woodland. We then came round the back of the park following a dirt track with all the emergency access for the back end of the park. We then came out right next to the entrance through the trees
 Share this content via...
Moosey   10 #9 Posted July 6, 2010 I always went the Matlock way, thru Matlock, Cromford, around Carsington Water, Ashbourne, can't recall the exact route but it only took 45 min to an hour.  Seconded. Miles quicker than the motorway, and much less traffic in a morning.
 Share this content via...
