It has been reported today that one per cent of the Worlds population will own 50% of the Worlds combined wealth by 2016.

Oxfam has stated that the global inequality is staggering .

So what is the remedy for this disgraceful situation as Capitalism seems to working only for those in the top monetary bracket.

Will the poorest people start to revolt against the World order or is that now to late since the fall of communism in the West.

Is there a World leader on the horizon who will take up the mantle in defence of the Worlds poor.

Will the rich decide that the time has come to share out the Earths resources on a more even and fair way .

Or will there be civil war between the have and have nots.

Its just a question of working for a fair days pay, the conservatives and UKIP are very divisive, and with a growing Green party, that will split the vote on the left.

Whilst it doesn't really change the point you're making, the Oxfam report says 1% of the population will have more wealth than the other 99% of the population combined - so over 50% of the wealth rather than 99% of it.

It's an interesting question Mecky. Why should they?

Wouldn't it be great if the poorer nations could get rid of their corrupt governments and embrace capitalism to increase their nations' wealth.

Instead I would expect some of them and their apologists to complain, do nothing, try to drag down the wealthy to their level and suggest international socialism is the way forward. Then we'll all be more equal. And all be a lot poorer. But at least we'll all be more equal. What a dreadful concept and a recipe for disaster.
