Has anyone ever had any dealings with Car motion at Mexborough? I am looking at buying a used car and on looking at the choice they have BUT they seem pretty cheap....so i was just wanting any feed back or reviews on the service and quality of cars they sell.
Thank you

There are plenty of tell tale signs with cars that have been clocked ie no service records / history, no old mots,
wear on drivers seats / signs of wear what you would not expect with a car with low miles.

Run a history check on the car you may fancy as there are ways and means to find out !

What I do is for free, type the registration into ebay and it brings up the milage record of the car.

Good luck

We have a ford S-Max car from car motion and have been satisfied with it .... It was reasonably priced because it had high mileage because it was an ex-company car, which I think is what most of car motions cars are, but full service history etc, we knew what we were getting for the money and the cars' a good runner ... Far better than the low mileage zafira we bought previously that cost us a fortune and had endless money spent on it in repairs and replacement parts

I take back what I say ... 18 months after we bought the car it's needing a new turbo and we were stupid enough to take the extended warranty they offered " for peace of mind"..... That's not worth the paper it's written on as the company VGS have every get out clause they can and refuse to pay out so wouldn't touch them with a barge pole !

Hi there, yes ive just recenlty bought my third car (VW Passat Highline 2.0Diesel) from Carmotion (salesman Steve) , always been extremly pleased with my experience and all there cars are typically 1 owner with full main dealer service history, and generally all very clean tidy cars.

Hi, just bought a car yesterday and pick it up on Saturday. I dealt with a gentleman called Rob who was knowledge and not at all pushy. I was there for 2.5 hrs looking and taking cars out on test drives. All the cars come with full service history, they are nearly all ex-lease cars so have been maintain mostly at dealers. Mine is a Saab 2008 plate with 97,000 miles on the clock, last service at 91,000 which was a main service and had timing belt etc changed. Overall they seem very professional. You pick the car up a few days later as they repair any chips, dents or other issues and give it a full valet before you collect. So far I would recommend, will let you know on sunday as to how it went on pick up day. If you do buy a car from there mention my name lee buchanan and they'll send me 50.00, but wait until Sunday if you can and I will let you know how it went.

You can check the previous 3 or 4 years MOT results online for free now, all you need is the vehicle numberplate and document reference number from the V5.

If it's clocked it's easy to see when the mileage go's from 120k one year to 40k the next.

Did you buy the car? What was the verdict? Seen a car there I like no details on mileage.

Car Motion. Formerly Economy Cars (Mexborough) Ltd. with an almost zero Trade credit rating.
Owned by brother Mark and Paul Dunston. Economy Cars (Mexborough) Ltd and Economy Cars (Doncasrer) Ltd were dissolved and the company was reformed as Car Motion on 11th May 2009.
High mileage and overpriced cars at almost full retail value and usually sold with an equally overpriced aftermarket warrranty. They used to specialise in being able to get credit facilities for people with an almost zero credit rating but you paid through the nose for it. Perhaps they still do.
Why would anyone choose this company to purchase a car from? There are better dealers and better deals if you take the time to look.

Bought the car. Seems okay. They are high mileage motors, as ex-lease hire My car was an ex Chubb car. Mine had done 97,000 with full service history, and just had the main service undertaken. They MoT'd the car, put new tyres on the front as these were down to 3mm and taxed for 6mths. So far I'm happy. As you would expect the cars have a few issues (nothing major, actually very minor) due to the mileage they have done.

Price wise, I couldn't find a comparable car cheaper after looking for three months. Visited some dealers in Doncaster and the sales people were shockingly bad. The gentleman I dealt with wasn't pushy in the slightest, I test drove a couple of cars, to get the feel for what I wanted.

If I do get any issues I'll let you know.

As for the owners, never dealt with them, and I've yet to come across a second hand car dealer that people don't class as 'dodgy'.

After yesterday's experience I would never go back to these jokers again!!! Parts falling off engines during test drives! The sales guy leaving us hanging while he made a drama about it and then being plain rude during negotiations

I bought a Mondeo Titanium X from these when they were Economy cars. They sold it as having FSH and 2 keys, which I stupidly allowed them to send on to me as they were still awaiting them...they never turned up and then denied ever saying it had FSH....Cost me on the resale! Never Again

The dealer will never know how the previous owner treated the car, its no good saying this dealer is bad compare to others when most of the stock are from the same auctions around yorkshire. Thats why it is important to found someone who knows about cars to go over it and see if anything is wrong, much better then whats the mileage and kick the tyre

Steer Clear! From my personal experience I would not use Car motion again neither would I recommend to a friend, family member or enemy.

Regretted purchase practically as soon as I got the vehicle home as fault lights started lighting up on dash. Upon contacting Car motion I was quick to find their after sales service to be shocking and let's just say practically none existent. People wouldn't call back when they said they would, generally taking up a whole day to get back to you, which in turn was then another day with a faulty car.

It took over a month with them having to take the vehicle back to "Fix" the same fault 4 times for it to finally, touch wood, be in a condition we can use. Needless to say faith in the vehicle has been lost. Although they collected the vehicle each time, well they had to really as it would not run and the garage was not close, the state of the courtesy cars left was appalling. To name but a few things, no tax on car, engine management light on, filthy inside, stinking of smoke, never any fuel (not even enough to get to a garage to put some in as they brought it on the back of a truck!), they would also drive my car back to me once they thought it was fixed, using the fuel I had put in and not replacing it.

Tried rejecting the vehicle on numerous occasions but nobody would talk to me about this. The whole issue caused stress that was not needed. They did not reply to any emails sent to them. Resorted to letters, first one never got a reply, finally had a reply to second letter after speaking to someone on the phone over a week after sending it, their reply was basically washing their hands of it all.

Not wasting anymore time & energy on these cowboys, only to write reviews to warn others. Do your homework, as I didn't and paid for it. Also check out how many times the business has been closed and re-opened under different names, I was shocked.
