New Years Eve Events 2011?

I really want to do something special this NYE as I usually end up just sat in the house watching everyone else do something exciting on the TV but I dont know what to do!

I like the thought of going to some sort of event, like a meal with some sort of act or theme where you have to dress up black tie? Has anyone ever done anything like this and can suggest somewhere to go, I dont want it to be just a meal in a hotel/restaurant. I dont mind travelling to a different city and I like the look of this event in London:

But its £125 each and then adding on hotels, transport to London etc it would be too expensive but this is the kind of thing I'd fancy. Anyone got any suggestions?
