Strange noises in the sky 16/08/15

Hi guys.

Quick question: Did anyone hear the loud strange noise last night about 1-5am? It sounded like a really (and I mean REALLY!) loud mechanical screeaching rumbling sound. I come from North Anston and was woke up by this horrid sound.

There aren't any big roads near enough to my house to have a car go fast enough to make a noise like that and it is by far the loudest mechanical sound I've ever heard.

I sort of understand at least that its a phenomenon but wondered if anyone else heard it? It surprised me that people can witness these things yet theres no news about them or anything.

I had a very loud roaring sound last night in Ecclesfield - it was a train. With the right wind conditions coupled with my location, the sound had travelled perfectly, straight up the valley - sounded, much, much closer.
