Specialist soldering service for mobile phone repair

Hi, does anyone know of a shop in Sheffield that is able to replace the sim card reader on a Samsung Galaxy S7? I can obtain the part but the soldering is beyond me. You can see a video of the process here

Have tried them already. They said that they would have to send it away but then came back and said that they couldn't get the repair done after all.

not sure of their level of capability however, not used them before...

Did they give a reason why it can't be repaired?

Some of the processes used to assemble phones are so specialised there just is no possibility of an aftermarket repair.

Fonefun didn't really give a reason, just that the place they were going to send the phone to had confirmed that they couldn't do the repair. In the end they just suggested I take the phone to a Samsung repair centre. There isn't a Samsung centre in Sheffield anymore but I spoke to Samsung on the phone and they said that they would probably replace the motherboard which would cost more than I had paid for the phone.

As can be seen from the video the part is replaceable but requires specialised soldering skills. I have found a couple of places online that say they can do the repair but I would prefer to go somewhere local. If I can't do that I'll just put the phone on Ebay for spares.

I have used mobi tech albeit just a screen replacement.

I would use them.again

Shop at Swallonest does mobile repairs. Did me a screen whilst i waited

There isn't a Samsung centre in Sheffield anymore but I spoke to Samsung on the phone and they said that they would probably replace the motherboard which would cost more than I had paid for the phone.

As geared said.

Alas that is probably what will have to be done as it will be more expensive to get the part, take the other off and solder back a new one as most components these days are SMD's which require a reflow oven.

If you're willing to do the disassembly, and reassembly afterwards. I can do the soldering no problem.
