mlfc   10 #25 Posted August 10, 2015 A few years ago I ordered online a very unusual map of Sheffield that shows many of the pubs but in the style of a tube map. If you google Sheffield pub tube map you should find them
 Share this content via...
Garbo   10 #26 Posted August 10, 2015 And I guess it depends if your parents are drinkers. But there's a good argument for Sheffield and Yorkshire as beer capital of the UK. A nice bottle of Kelham, Blue Bee or Abbeydale beer. Gorgeous Gorlovka stout from Acorn, Bradfield's down to earth blonde or stout, Ossett's Treacle stout or oatmeal stout from Wentworth. Loxley gin or Sheffield gin or anything from Thornbridge. Try the Dram shop on Commonside  We visited a friend in Portsmouth a couple of years ago and took with us a hamper of "northern" items.... A box of Liquirice all sorts Some Yorkshire Mix (boiled sweets) A bottle of hendersons relish A bakewell pudding (yes, I know that's Derbyshire) A box of Yorkshire Tea bags Some bottled beer from Sheffield brewery There were some other items as well, but can't remember what they were.  I covered a cardboard box with a copy of The Star and arranged everything in it.  Thats exactly what I'm doing!  A few years ago I ordered online a very unusual map of Sheffield that shows many of the pubs but in the style of a tube map.
