My thoughts on the lady are not really apt
And the poverty in which she left people trapped
If i put what i thought
I'd quickly be caught
By the mods and my rhyme soon would be zapped

I am sure and I know that it's true
That her death will be mourned by a few
I do not give tuppence
She got her comeuppance
At the hands of the rest of her crew

It's all going off down the Lane
They've sacked the poor gaffer again
The last couple of years
Have been nothing but tears
While the club have been trapped on the wane.

Poor Blades have got little to cheer
The play offs or nothing I fear
They sell off the best
And rely on the rest
Thought they'd learn after failing last year

It certainly didn't make this old heart to be blue
A state funeral is being discussed
I for one am definitely not fussed

My feelings on this are with Jim:
His thoughts are a credit to him.
Some others may shout -
(Do they know what about?)
'Empty Vessels...' is not just a whim.

Think on...

I remember a time, oer thirty years back
When Unions were mafias, tought workers to slack
Then along came a dame
Made unions go lame
And for the first time in history, put British Steel in the black

She did the same for many more
Showed King Arthur the door
Let me buy my own pad
For that, I was glad
And the Argies, she mopped up the floor

She was hated by millions, the whole of the land?
But when it came to the vote, we all thought her grand
She was re voted twice
Made her prime minister thrice
So the few that are singing, it's alone that you stand

It's time you moved on and put it to rest
Like your old donkey jacket and dirty string vest
The facts are quite clear
We held her so dear
And for Britain, that girl did her best.

From a mining community I am
We had to beg for bread and for jam
She brought nothing but tears
And now down the years
About her I don't give a damn.

From a mining community I'm not, I admit
But I remember when bread and milk was like rocking horse s hit
Come to think of it
So was a light that was lit
Everyone was calling the strikes, including your friends down the pit

I know where you are coming from
But at the time I was a Mom
And how a woman could contemplate
Giving a child an empty plate
Not just for breakfast and for lunch and for tea.

I was there abouts at the same time
The streets full of rubbish, a nation of grime
We can go on all night
But I don't want a fight
You back the unions and I'll stick with the one so sublime

I don't want to fight with you either
At the time I was just like a beaver
Trying to fill bellies
With more nutrients than jellies
While she was wielding the cleaver

So now we're a politics free zone
With no more of this gnawing a bone
It's far better to eight

So no more will i lower the tone.

The sunshine is out in the sky
And the washing is hanging to dry
My weekend's alone
But I don't like to moan
But I might sit here and have a good cry
