Sheffield steel and a lion symbol

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Im researching on a family a member who lived in Sheffield around the 1800s- he owned a large steel company and his symbol was the lion on a ring of gold and bloodstone. He went to Russia for something to do with the Czar at the time- business thing according to my Dad. He used to work as a boy at a steel factory before rising to starting up his own company. This is all I know from him from my father- my father's last name is Cole. Anyone have any clue or anything that might prove close to this information here?

Thanks!

You could try writing to the Cutlers Company at Cutlers Hall, Church St, Sheffield they have all the trademarks.
